The medical and health information on this website is provided for general education and to help patients understand PVT services. It is not a substitute for an individual medical consultation, assessment, diagnosis or treatment plan.

General medical information

Website content is provided for general education and to explain PVT services. It is not personalised medical advice and should not be used as a substitute for an assessment by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Diagnosis requires an individual assessment

Symptoms can have many possible causes. A webpage, checklist, article or online tool cannot diagnose an infection, hormonal condition, sexual-health concern or any other medical condition.

Diagnosis and treatment decisions require an individual clinical assessment and, where appropriate, examination or testing.

Emergencies and time-sensitive exposure

The website is not an emergency service. If you have a medical emergency, seek urgent medical assistance through an appropriate emergency facility or service.

Possible HIV exposure within the last 72 hours is time-sensitive because PEP must be started within 72 hours and works best when started as soon as possible.

Testing windows and results

Testing reliability depends on the infection, test method, timing of exposure and individual circumstances. General window-period information on the website is a guide and does not replace advice based on your actual exposure dates.

A negative test taken too early may require repeat testing.

Treatment suitability

Medication, hormone therapy, vaccines and advanced procedures are not suitable for every patient. Treatment may only be offered where clinically appropriate after assessment of symptoms, history, examination and investigations where required.

Advanced treatments and procedures

Information about PRP-based procedures and other advanced treatments describes services that may be considered after clinical assessment. Website information does not guarantee eligibility, outcome or suitability.

Where a procedure is appropriate, costs and the treatment plan should be confirmed before booking.

When to seek professional advice

If you are concerned about a symptom, exposure, test result, medication or treatment decision, arrange an appropriate medical consultation rather than relying only on general online information.
